OK a question to all the guys....

Thursday, August 14, 2003 by kona0197 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Do you use a razor or electric to shave with? I use a gilette mach 3 turbo but I recently tried a norelco and it hurt every time I shaved and I always broke out in rashes the day after.

So what do you use?

(probably a dumb thread but oh well!)

BIC original. Why use two or more blades when one will take enough skin and hair. Plus I'm cheap, and so are they

Karma, what you just said there is basically the ABC of shaving. Any man knows that. Hehehe!
But note that you can also use ice cold water to close the pores of your skin instead of an aftershave. Works just as well.

I guess I'm young too, because I use a Remington every other day. lol.

But for some reason, I like it better when a lady talks about shaving her legs. Tell me more, Karmagirl. hehehe.

Paxx, doesn't cold water close the pores?

in Texas - old trustworthy remington
in Bangkok - german boker straight razor. for some reason the electrics give me a rash if i shave with them in thailand. it's damned near as hot and humid in houston so i don't know what the difference is.

the straight razor ( 7" blade ) also works wonders at deterring would-be attackers, who probably would not be equally intimidated by my remington shaver.

Ummmm...you would be shocked at how many men *don't* know that!  I can also guess that there are quite a few men on this board that use regular soap or just water to shave with and never think about their pores until they get some nasty razor burn or rash.....

Who said I was talking about legs?  (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more.....)

Norelco, for about 30 years. Once a week now because I don't care.

KarmaGirl,

Are there after shaves for women???? I haven't used one because I really, really don't want to smell like a man after I shaved myself (and I do not shave my face ).
I have seen saving gels for women but nothing to "close the pores".

aufisch: anything that's alcohol based will work. But it's not really recommended because it can also block the pores (alcohol).  Just really cold water works just as well and is better for you skin.

No electrics for me.....haven't found one that shaves as close as a razor. I don't like the mach 3 - or any other 3 blade razor. I'll stick with the comfortable shave of the gilette sensor - with shaving gel, not shaving cream.

Karma is always right...

I use 3 different types

First I usually wash my face, but not always.

The I use:
Norelco
Reminton wet/dry
Shycik razor (2 blades)

Beweetn all of those (or 2 and switching up) hot water and shaving cream I am cool.

I also exfoliate (spell?) once a week and use Noxema every 2 days to wash my face. Plus I use coca butter to try to get rid of those dark areas from shaving all the time...

That reminds me, i need to go to the skin doctor....

Besides having it rip the whiskers out by the root, I always have to shave multiple times with an electric because it never works just once or twice for that matter... eck, wish one would though....

KarmaGirl,

Are there after shaves for women

No, that is why I mentioned an astringent.  There are also some lotions that are made to apply after shaving.
