So what's your day job?

Sunday, August 3, 2003 by Hus | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Just curious as to what people do when they're not on WC...

I am the warehouse manager for a very large manufacturer and distributor of 'Adult Entertainment Products'. Shhh...don't flame. I know it's immoral.

It pays pretty good and that type of environment doesn't bother me. All my friends are jelous, and the company trips to Atlantic City and Vegas are a lot of fun.

So what do you guys do?

Bah, you guys have it easy..... I work in a casino as a Gaming Inspector, that's why I said that I argue with drunken morons and catch cheats. The secret is to be one step ahead of them....in other words, I'm a better cheat than they are!................................Anyone want to play cards?

all joking aside Boxxi, that sounds like a really dangerous occupation. I assume you have lots of backup for the really nasty ones.

All forms of poker, chinese poker, gin, rummy 500 and spades. No blackjack though, I would rather lick a plunger than play blackjack. I loathe blackjack. Other than that though, I love a good card game.

By day I clean rooms at the local Best Western Hotel. At night I repair PCs and Apples, and do bicycle repair. I also run a successful ebay store. Kona keeps busy

I am the only IT man (my business card says 'IT Manager', I had 3 people in the IT department once) in a business with 45 PC's in a LAN/WAN. Do everything from System-/Net-Admin over help-desk to programming (mostly databases) and buying hardware/building PC's. Quite good with the IBM AS/400 also, but we don't use it anymore. I will change jobs in October as my company will close. Basically the same, with only with 10 PC's left...
