DesktopX 2.........Special Request

I finally took the plunge tonight (excuse the pun) and downloaded the new version of DesktopX coz i was dying to have a go with the fishies. What can i say. Fantastic. Found a great Wall on the net to compliment them.......theres a link for the wall on Neowin on one of the DesktopX threads. Just one thing, my little 6 year old daughter would love a mermaid. Is there anyone with the skill out there to do one. Unfortunately my skinning skills are a bit limited still so it will be some time before i am as good as the likes of Frogboy and Dewebmassa at making these objects. Please anyone?

Your interim mermaid is uploaded. HOWEVER, it is up to you to find me a better image to work with. I spent 1/2 hour trying find something acceptable and this was it. 
I would prefer a 3DS Max model but can also work with a reasonably high quality GIF or other animated format as long as there is no copyright on it. The larger the size, the better off we are.

There is a mermaid 3ds model that can be purchased but there are two problems... #1 Its has naked boobies (really nice ones though!) and while that may be cool with a lot of people here, you may not want that for a little girl. #2 It's $195 :^o
Anyway, remember, if it isn't a 3ds model, I would really prefer that it already be animated.

I have googled till i am blue in the face and i cannot find a good GIF or Animated or PNG of a mermaid. one you start going past the first 5 pages of hits you start coming into all sorts of porn etc.

Theres nothing wrong with downloading a graphic of the little mermaid and using it in DesktopX. In fact it might even be ok to distribute that object, after all how many CocaCola/Sony/Pioneer/Pepsi skins are their for Winamp out on the internet? Also if that were the case, any DX Object made as a zoomer, like the Unreal Tournament logo etc, would also be disallowed.
The real problem would be if you were selling it, or including it as part of an "Original Creation".

I was contacted today by someone who says they have a 3d model of a mermaid but they need some help learning how to create DX Objects. I am going to help him out and see how that works out. If we still need a mermaid at that point, we'll move to the next level.

Personally for me I'd prefer a real looking mermaid, not a cartoony one. Too bad Daryl Hannah from "Splash" isn't available, since I'd think you would have found it already, she'd be a good one.

Listen... if anyone can find me a good AVI or MPG of a mermaid swimming, it will take me some time but I am willing to consider going that route. Problem is it involves twice the work but hey, at this point I want this resolved!

I've written emails to two authors that have 3d models they created... we'll see what they say.
