Once the theme installed, will it remain in place after Win10 updates?
Wednesday, October 17, 2018 by drpeppercan | Discussion: Beginners
I am a total beginner at this.
I love the idea of applying a different theme. But I don't want to go through a whole lot of trouble just to loose it on the next Windows 10 update.
Any chance that could happen?
Thanks guys

I understand.
I guess I'll start by doing it with my old pc, and wait after an update is installed and see how it goes. I'll do a backup before of course.

Thing is, I've been installing themes on Win 10 for quite some time now and have never had one wiped out by an update. Yes, I had a Windows update that took exception to some of my 3rd-party programs, but my desktop was untouched... as in my WindowBlind, IconPackager, CursorFX and other themes remained intact.
That's why I reckon that you should just go ahead and apply the themes you want. Should you find the themes are gone after the next update, which isn't too likely, just reapply them with the relevant Stardock software.

By rights, if you apply a theme using Stardock programs, it should still be on your desktop after a Win 10 update. Having said that, however, with the various consequences of Windows Update of late, I wouldn't bet the farm on it.
I blocked the latest update due to some users losing all their personal files, but the previous major update disabled or uninstalled many of my 3rd-Party programs, so who knows.
The odds are that your theme will be intact after the next update, but don't quote me on it. okay.
