Black Screen KVM
Multiplicity Pro KVM

Hey support, I connect to my laptop via KVM and I see a black screen with no cursor, no taskbar, etc. Just a black screen. All my other PCs work correctly.
It is a gaming laptop with dual graphics, if that makes a difference.
I can connect fine via seamless.
Any ideas?

Ok, this works even if there is no second screen for the laptop?
No, ctrl+alt+backspace not working. Switch monitor not working either, since there is no other monitor, just the laptop monitor itself.

I have also just noticed that multiplicity remote control server is using 23% of my CPU on the remote laptop which has an i7 and 16 GB ram. Is that a lot?

One thing at a time...
I would suggest looking at upgrading the video drivers on the remote.
Also, to make sure the remote is not 'asleep', that the laptop lid is open (not closed) and no screensaver is running. In other words, test as it would be if someone were using it.

Ok, I will get on the drivers, which I think are up to date. I guess I need to upgrade both the nVidia and the Intel drivers, if they need it.
Lid always open, never sleeps. It's either on or off.

nVidia and Intel drivers up to date. nVidia already was, Intel wasn't, but is now.
No change. Still black screen KVM.

RND, that was pretty much the shoreline for what is known to resolve the very few that have reported it.
In almost every case (I think every....), it was always with a headless box, not with a laptop.
I suppose it could but it would be independant experimentation on your end turning one or the other off (set to always use NVidia for example and vice versa).
Some other things to at least consider:
-Disable any and all firewalls / AV products including Windows Defender
-Purging / re-install on each:

ever fix this? saaaaaaame issue. laptop screen wide open and running. i literally have to seamless over to it and force it to shake the display awake to "not" get a black screen if i try to kvm.

Is there an external monitor hooked to the laptop - is it on? If so, and after you KVM to it, try clicking the alt monitor button in the KVM session window.
Also, try CTRL + ALT + Backspace to get the normal CTRL + ALT + DEL Windows option.

Afraid no external monitor whatsoever. Its an older intel with integrated graphics though if that makes a difference. Its pretty far down my list of issues w/ multiplicity atm but in trying to resolve them on my own i came across this thread and posted to see if the OP had any info.
The commands are being passed as i can look over and see the keypresses going in. Unfortunately the kvm screen stays black most of the time.

A black screen would usually mean the monitor is powered off and there is nothing to capture.
If you are seeing live input the other thing to look into is if something is interfering with the ability for Multiplicity to capture the screen. For example on the connect screen do you see a mini thumbnail showing the contents of the screen at all?

Does it have two GPUs, the Intel and another (AMD / NVIDIA)?

well initially it is powered off, sort of. after some time without activity it goes into standby mode. taking a keypress or a moving of the mouse button to wake up the display. Pretty commonplace now but i figured id mention it.
that being said, the display will be awake, as i can type in my password "blind" and it will be typed in behind me on the laptop.
Definitely no two gpus, i wish. We're talking original core2duo in that bad boy 
purely a workhorse.
