Only partial Icons?

Thursday, August 30, 2018 by tjjudd44 | Discussion: Icons

I recently downloaded a pair of Icon Packages by Ace Matrix.  Blackout and Dragon Fire.  I unpacked Blackout and put the folder into the Stardock folder like any of my other IP's, and ran the IP file inside the folder.  IP recognizes the Package but doesn't show any icon's in the preview pane and doesn't load any when the package is chose.  The icon's are clearly there in the folder so I'm very confused as to why they don't show up.

This same issue happens with Dragon Fire but in that case the preview shows me 2 of the icons but none of the others, and again they are all listed in the folder.

I have installed several other packages without any problems, and this is the first work I have tried with Ace Matrix packages, he is obviously a well established skinner, so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong or if it's another problem.  I have been using Object Desktop and Wincustomize for about 6 months so I'm still kind of new.  Any help would be appreciated.

I'm getting ready to try and run the "purge" as you suggested above.  I have Iconpackager thru the Object Desktop bundle, should I purge, reboot, and then reinstall using the OD file management tool?  I'm assuming that would give me the most recent version of IP.

Go to your " My Downloads " in your Stardock Account and download

https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products/

the latest version from there.

I just found out, the hard way, why this is happening. It's because the icons are using sizes bigger than 256 x 256. If you'll open the icons, in Icon Developer, you'll see icons bigger then 700 x 700.

I added 512 x 512 to my icons and people had the same problem. After changing all the icons to 256 x 256 and less. The problem resolved itself.

Hope that helps. And let the icon makers know, not to make the icons so big.
