DesktopX "version 4 beta" crashes with some desktops on Windows 10
v3.5 doesn't seem to however

Hi everyone.
Now I realise full well that DesktopX is no longer supported but I had a lot of fun with v3.5 on my Windows 10 setup. Of course I couldn't buy a licence so couldn't carry on experimenting once the trial ran out which I was very sad about. That was until an unnamed party pointed me towards the newer "beta" version of the software which has a Pro licence from the get go. Fantastic I thought, that was until I tried to use desktops that had worked more or less perfectly fine with v3.5 . Now I've read on other threads here that people hate v3.5 but then Windows 10 hadn't been released back then when people were posting that. What's interesting though is that I'm getting the same crashes on an XP (POS Ready) box too.
I'm quite happy to give up on v3.94 or whatever version number it is and go back to v3.5 unless some clever person is able to help me with what the problem is. It doesn't crash with all desktops but for the two so far that do they're more from the older generation, say from the 2001/2 era. I've noticed that embedded fonts are locked by Windows once extracted into CurrentTheme and can't be deleted. I don't know if this is relevant or not but one of the desktops doesn't seem to have custom fonts included.
So, would it be a terrible thing to ask if anyone has a Pro copy of v3.5 I could have a copy of? I would promise to not get StarDock involved in any complaints or customer service queries / huge litigation cases if I were to have a copy. Promise!
Many thanks and happy DesktopXing! An unbelievably amazing piece of software if you ask me.

I'm really only a beginner with it then I suppose; 30 days isn't long!
Are there big changes between new and old desktops that could be the cause of the problems I'm having then?
Is it wrong that I'm asking for a copy here as I can't think of another way to get my hands on something that works. Anyway, it's good to see people still creating so long after DesktopX was removed from sale.

Really?
I personally can't get 3.5 to run anything that is scripted on Windows 10.
