Installing Wallpaper/Windows XP

Sunday, May 25, 2003 by mrpianist | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hi, I am using Windows XP and I downloaded a wallpaper from this site yesterday, and after unzipping the file, it opened with the photo editor. From there I just right-clicked the image and chose "set as wallpaper" from the menu.

Today, when I turned on the computer, the wallpaper was no longer on the desktop and when I went into the desktop properties, the wallpaper was listed there but it did not work. How do I fix this?

After setting it as desktop wallpaper did you move it or delete it?

Strange. I suggest maybe do it the proper way.
Save the wallpaper in any directory (My Documents or something like this), then from your Desktop properties tab, see if it's listed, if not use the browse button to get to it.

Should work.

Just thought of something. Maybe you didn't unzip it the first time, but just opened the image directly from within the zip, as WIN XP allows you to do. But when doing so, XP just copies the file in a temp directory, which is then deleted upon reboot.

So, make sure you actually extract the image from the zip and move it to a permanent directory.

Hi, I found a way to solve this:
I redownloaded it and unzipped it to the same directory the other wallpapers are located.
