Slut in the screenshots... -Sigh-
Saturday, May 24, 2003 by EventHorizon | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I have noticed lately, that there have been a lot of unsavory additions to the screenshots library. I emailed Jafo about this and he deleted a number of them, but of course, they still keep comin' in. B1uesummers in particular with some others coming SS Goku etc. I am wondering if maybe screenshots arent obliged to go through moderation...That could be a prob.
To see what im talkin about go to... https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=13&SkinID=1973 Ok fine, thats just one, but ive been watchin the screenshots for a while and I dont like what I see...One IS worth removing so that we dont have little kids paying visits to the screenshots and saying, "Mommy, mommy, look at that!..."
Now some of you may not agree with me...(People's moral standards being different and all)...but I dont think its right for a "family site" to be displaying this kind of crap. Basically what Im asking is, could someone please remove the ones you see fit and to make sure these people dont do it again.

wombat_1!I didn't even raise an eyebrow over that one, it's actually pretty tame. Go to the mall or any place that might have anime images and you'll see pretty much the same thing and they are all on public display. (not to mention scantily clad men or women on magazines even at the grocery store checkout.) I think this is much ado over nothing. It's just fine that you may want to keep your children from seeing certain things but what is acceptable to one may not be acceptable to another. What you do see around has been deemed as publicly acceptable by society as a whole and I doubt seriously everyone is going to change anything to suit those in the minority frame of thought. They will have to do their own screening and censoring if they want to shield their children from what is commonly available. You are the parent and it's not up to society to conform to what standards you may deem as acceptable for your children...that's your responsibility as a parent.
EV, it's expressed opinions that bring about change...they may not always be aggreed with, but without them things sure would be dull.
Don't keep them to yourself. I may get flamed for what I just said...but that's ok...what matters is that I can say it.

| Ok, I see not that it would have been better if I had in the first place kept my opinions to myself... Ill keep that in mind when I visit the message board in the future.... |
Everyone has opinions on everything, that dosen't necessarily make them all right...
And nobody ever said you were wrong either.

"This site is a community site. As such, we expect users to behave with honor and integrity. Treat the person you post to or comment on a skin to as if they are sitting next to you. Picture this place as a nice, comfortable resort surrounded by friends." Wincustomize
Its not about censorship its about your friend sitting next to you that is offended by it and is no longer comfortable about a situation. Help him/her out. Its like CAPS LOCK YELLING or cursing. no one's censoring you from doing it at all. We just ask that you refrain from it while you are here.

| This is an applications skinning site. It is not people magazine, its not maxim magazine, its not japanese animated art website. |
Its another thing too, a PUBLIC forum run by a private company for people to share their art, skins, and ideas. So your point is moot.

You seem a bit uptight about all this.
