Need help with Skinstudio- buttons

I am having difficulty coloring the pushbutton.tga buttons. After I color it, save it, reload it, it disappears from the preview.
I am using Skinstudio 3. File/New/From Template/Windowblinds/Windows Skin (XP-like interface)

I had this exact problem at first bord, it was my masks. I was new to the whole mask/alpha channel thing. Could that be it? Im guessing

What program are you using to recolor the tga? Maybe the program is not saving the alpha channel?

Take a look at this page. It has a prettty good tutorial on creating masks/alpha channels

The menus may be a little different in PSP8 than PSP7 (which this was written for) but you should get the idea
