Born in 71 so the 80's were it for me
(I feel so old now )

Spandex pants with calf hight leather boots.
Studded or chain-like belts
Jeans so tight you had to hang upside down almost to get into them.
concert shirts
MOTLEY CRUE
RATT
TWISTED SISTER
SCORPIONS
BIG BIG HAIR! (I don't know who had bigger hair, me or Motley Crue )
Men with long hair pretty hair, in spandex( Mmm how I miss those days )
Heavy makeup--Black liner real thick around the eyes
Wearing Nike high tops...unlaced
Hanging out at the mall
Piercings--(still kept mine for nostalgia )
Wearing multiple earings in one whole (That used to hurt)

Lady Akasha, you sound like you could have been one of the girls that I hung out with in school! I was born in 1972.

I kept the piercings, too. My left ear is pierced 6 times, the right is pierced 3 times.

Do you remember wearing one long earing on one side and a short one on the other? Or using a safety pin for an ear ring? (Those were silly days...)

Karma Girl:

My left ear is pierced 5 times, and my right only once!
I just wear tiny hoops in those these days. but back then... *Shaking head* sometimes long dangly things nearly in each one.

And yes, in the left ear the longer the earing the better. And in the right, maybe just a stud? Did the safety pin thing too. One time in class we connected several safety pins and made a long one

Or here's a classic, writing on the sides of the high tops high tops were a must for the 'rockers') band names in their lettering or symbols. (goofballs)

And concert shirts had to have cut off sleeves, and cut until they became midriffs.

Those were very silly days. But great ones That statement proved I am getting old. Aaah and the fellas back then...at that age for me,the longer the hair the better or they just weren't eye candy

Actually, I have never watched Buffy (*shock* *horror*)
Not my type of thing..... Actually, I only watch about 2 hours of TV a *week*, so there isn't much that I watch!

Lady Akasha,
With writing on things....we used to write on everything. It wasn't abnormal to see "graffiti" all over the back of your jacket or to draw on a friends jacket.

I went through a lot of hairspray in the 80's!

Tight jeans that were folded and rolled at the ankles...

Shiny pink lipstick and nail polish...

Rock bands with "girl" hair and animal print spandex... (didn't they call that "glam" rock or something?)

Metallica when they had long hair

Colored contacts were invented (the ones that changed your eye color)

Did anyone mention MTV and VH1?

Karma Girl,

Yes, you are right. We wrote on EVERYTHING. Shoes, jackets, notebooks looked entirely 'graffitied', hell writing on your hands was a thing too. (Don't ask it was the eighties...I don't know. )

Hairspray...Oh yes. AQUA NET--RAVE, and then the invention of a hair spray we called liquid cement,it was called SPLASH by a company called Focus 21. You could go through a hurricane, but every spike was in place

That pink lipstick was hideous though... Oh lordy. *Shaking head*
What about the bangles...those skinny ones, that usually came in a 10 pack. Wearing like a 100 was really in. From wrist up to as far you can go.

Caked on makeup??????
Tarantula eyes- mascara??? Back then we actually TRIED to get that look

Animal print pants... you name it, I had every animal. Zebra, Tiger, Lion, Cheetah prints pants. Then you wore them with leather black boots calf high, little dangley things hanging from the boots, jewles, studs.

Oh yeah..... THE BON JOVI JACKET!!!!!! I begged for one of those.
The long frindges/tassles hanging from the back, and arms??? (I called it the Bon Jovi Jacket) I still saved mine, it's in my closet, Keep hoping it comes back in style.

Metallica with long hair, wow I forgot about that. They were these skinny, extremely long haired 'heavy heavy metal' dudes back then.

And yes, the other 'metal' was definitely called "Glam Rock"
The poisons, Ratts,Warrant, Steel heart, I remember those...oh how sad?

Oh yeah...the black rubber bracelets??? Connecting two together and making that funny looking hook over look?

Here's one...

It used to be cool to carry a vent brush in the back pocket of your jeans.
