Hmmm.... not as easy as it might sound Lee. It can be done, but once you start stretching and tiling the various parts it could look a bit odd. Much better to just take your color pallette from your wall, and make graphics that will perform correctly in WB's.

For example: I am going to make a WB skin to match my "Loves dying embers" wallpaper, but if I just cut out a panel from the wall to make into a titlebar, it will get screwed up when tiled and just look messy. So I will make graphics that match the colors in the wall instead.

If you send me a screenshot of the wall you are considering using as a base, I will take a look and tell you if you can use any of it in your blind. Worth a shot eh?

Sound like you both are doing real good
Dark, If you want to use part of a wall design for a WB, its hard to do in all aspects of the skin as Boxxi mentioned.
But you can use 'cut-out' parts from the wall to create the logof window and the frame of the Start Menu window, just remember to make the 'cut-out' parts of the wall the same size as the template for the Start Menu window.

Skinstudio has a hint there

Please note that the first editor on the list is going to be the default editor invoked on image double click.

DM, what wallpaper are you basing your WB off of? (Mine is based off the colors in Sailors' Delight)

I was told SkinStudio would convert png to tga, but SS doesn't see any png files in the folder. Then I was told I would need to use the import function, but when I try that I get a cutesy error message about how that type of file might be useful, but it won't work here. Would someone please tell me how to get this to work?

Im not sure if SkinStudio converts .png to .tga
When I need to use a file as a .tga I save it as .tga and then import it.

It definitely works here. Just tried it. You need to either right click the name of the atrribute to change on the right hand side or the actual image in the preview. From the popup menu select 'Import from pre-made image'. Browse to the PNG and import it. Should be convertd to a TGA and imported without problems. Tested it here just now and all was fine.
