BTW, folks....we're back talking about LiteSTEP again.....and I pray it will NEVER be ported to Mac....though it would be hilarious if THEY received the error message 'You must re-install Windows'.

Something more coherent than 'XP sux'...[and I do not mean 'XP blows', either].
Certainly NOT saying skinning is a waste of time.....that would be nice......kicking everyone here in the teeth is a great way to win friends and influence people.

I only said "a waste of time" because I could not figure out why no one's happy with the way XP looks out of the box. In the future, since I know everyone here either hates me or hates my opinions, I will just shut up.

'Hate' is a bit extreme.....'mildly diverted' would be closer.
Though being a LiteSTEP user, I will not be found haunting Nextstart or Hoverdesk forums/threads prattling on about the superiority of MY shell over theirs.
I also don't pee in my neighbour's garden.

So no one hates me? thats weird. I thought since everyone bothers me about what I use or why I'm here that I am generally not wanted at this site. But I stay because alot of people give good advice.

hey, back to LS: is anybody else using alphaLSCP? i downloaded it today and am still exploring it. personally i think it´s awesome and it even works with 0.24.7 beta.

i use an old distro of LS, just seems i dont need the update, if u check my uplaoded theme, kiss theory thats what im running, too many mods = bad, gets confusing to code

I finally got my copy of Mandrake Linux 9.1. I just created a second partition for it on my hard drive so I can use both Windows and Linux. The wallpapers from this site look nice on my Linux desktop. KDE and Gnome are nice desktop environments. I wonder if there are any desktop skinning programs like Object Desktop available for Linux?

You could always try Solaris for the x86 platform....it's free too (for educational/non-commercial uses)

I had to install Mandrake Linux twice. I skipped over stuff the first time. Went over the steps more carefully the second time around and was pleasantly suprised with how compatible it was with my machine.

Linux still has a way to go in terms of user friendly installs and GUI interfaces. It's still for the computer hobbiest to try, not the Solitaire playing morons.

Really, if you antagonize other people don't be surprised if they poke you back. Yet you continue to antagonize people and then complain people are being mean to you.
Besides all this "my OS is better than your OS" business is silly. Anyone with the bucks can go out and buy a Mac, PC, whatever. It's no BFD. Doesn't make a person any smarter or a better human being.
