Little problem with WB4

Friday, April 11, 2003 by Tecumseh | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

With WB 3.5 and earlier you could make specific adjustments to a given skin with the "Advanced Features" window off the Appearance tab. For example make fonts bold, change a specific color if the skins default color didn't show on a specific app.,etc.

Well, the Advanced Features applet doesn't seem to work in WB4, unless I have a corrupt install or something.

Any thoughts, registry edits,etc?

Thanks in advance.

I've noticed this too. I haven't figured out the pattern yet, but it will work sometimes. There is a particular font I use with several skins, and I had a dickens of a time getting it to set in the "final" release of WB4 (though some earlier betas seemed not to have any problems with it).

I finally got it work, but only after some unrememberable sequence of set, apply, ok, apply, cancel, reload, etc. I imagine what you're trying to do is along the same lines, and therefore *will* work if you can get lucky with the right series of button presses.

Definitely a teeny snafu, though. Hope a future build will resolve this issue.

I sure hope a future fix will re-activate the Advanced Features applet. I've done clean WB4 installs and have tried all the sequencing you have mentioned and still no joy.

I'm going to keep the WB4 license but will continue using WB3.5 until they get it fixed.
