RE: Sphere Icons

Tuesday, April 8, 2003 by Vtach | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

OK i have Photoshop 7 and Corel's latest version. What i am trying to find out is what is the easiest way to create sphere icons and what program for me would be easier to use.
I read the help menus on each and it is not very helpful, i think. HAHA So i figure i would ask the PROS.

WOW, buying 2 (expensive) programs without knowing witch one to chose...
Anyway, use PHOTOSHOP! It rocks.
I could explain you how to do this, but that would become pretty diffricult as I can't show you screen shots.
Just have a look at:

If you're planning on creating icons, Corel is actually the better choice, as you can create the icons as vectors, which means they resize cleanly.

Use photoshop, cos the effects are cool. Plus, you can download (and then buy...?) IconBuilderXP, which is a plugin which creates icon files from photoshop. Very cool!

Layers are interesting. I haven't done much with them. But if the layer is just on the wrong line, move it and sometimes it works better. I haven't tried spheres so I'm not much there either. Ok, I should just leave, I"m no help at all.

Weaksid walks away.

You don't need Bryce to make sphere icons............ all you need is patience, and practice.
