hmmmmm....
it would seem that world politics would be more difficult than providing 30 billion dollars to stop world hunger. Who exactly would get this 30 billion? How would we make sure the money gets to the people? Is this 30 billion a year? Are we just feeding them or do we provide a way for thm to feed themselves?
I could go into the other stated points that where made, and as many times as I have eard them being made, it is never as simple as, just give them money.
As far as colonizing is conserned and the trillions of dollars in the middle east that would now be controlled by the US. How much would that control cost? Would Americans really support a goverment or a leader who 'colonizes' countires? I think your underestemating the power of the people.
People getting thier feeling out and expressing them in a non violent way is good. Even when it doesn't quite make sense, expressing yourself gets it out in the open and hopefully you'll see it analze it.

The only thing that makes me mad is the fact that people here in America are protesting the war. I think they should go to jail. What about the troops from all the nations involved? beating on drums in the middle of a street or walking down the street holding a sign ain't gonna stop the war, sorry. Get a life, support the troops.

Hey I got an idea, lets switch sides. In a good debate, it you have an opinion, you should also understand why someone would have a differing opinion.
Is there anyone who is on one side of thise willing to speak for the other side as to why the war or the US is good or bad?
Maybe this will help with the understanding of what is going on.

World politics is not easy. There are and will be interests other than what appears. I don't agree with Bush or with his tactics. Nevertheless, I have yet to here anything that says that Saddam has disarmed.
"Give him 30 more days." That's fine with me, but what happens when those 30 days are up? Maybe after those 30 days, we will give him 30 - 30 more days, but what happends after that?
"America is only interested in oil."
Just oil? Not just from Iraq I hope because it is not worth it. We would spend more than the oil they have just fighting the war. I guess Iraq could become a launch pad for 'conquering' other oil rich places. The cost for doing so? More money than most of the oil in the region. Good investment?

Why is the USA friends with China? They do the same thing as Iraq... Iraq has oil to fund its weapons production, China has a struggleing economy. The chinese soldier is more loyal as well as the population. I doubt they would sell weapons to those who would later use them against themselves.
It is not just about this country does the same thing or hey you have them too... it is about location, location, location, economy, additudes, stability, population comfort level (food, shelter, education, jobs)
When you include all of those factors who is more dangerous? Iraq or Argentina? Iran or Canada? North Korea or China? Serbia or Seria? Libia or France?
Is Saddam in breach of the agreement???
Does he have loads of money???
How loyal is his army???
Population comfort level???
How many resolutions for disarmerment????
How many years under said resolutions???????
Is Saddam or is Saddam trust worthy when it comes to disarmermant?
Has the inspectors in any way saySaddam has disarmed or is co-operating fully with them?
Is Iraq a place to live?
Would you want your daughter or son to live there? Why?

BTW, about the poll: it's not "the coalition", it's the US and Britain, and a little Australia. The other countries barely count so much they are small, poor and depend on the US for financial help.
I'm puzzle by this need for Bush to have a "coalition". Because he couldn't get the UN approval he thinks he can form his own private little UN?

I am following this thread since the beginning and never posted any comments because my English is very limitated, so many times I am not able to express myself like I want.
Fortunatly there was a person here that have being posting since of the beginning, saying things that are 100% supported by me, having the guts of maintainning his position and being attacked by all sides, his name is Patrick Fontaine, aka paxx.
I love the United States, allready was there over 50 times and know the country better then a lot of Americans, Iknow more then 20 satates, over 80 cities, allready study and worked there and try to come back everytime that I have a chance.
My father was graduated in Yale law school and after that, he wast the US consulate atourney in São Paulo for over 20 years and was him that teached me how to love US.
I must to say that this time I am totally against President Bush position, as 87% of the Brazil population are.
Bravo paxx! You are a brave soldier of the piece.

DavidK - 621 was pithy, i agree with Jafo. unfortunately, it contains a litany of accusations with zero proof. and if you posted a link for every one of them, investigation would show that many lack hard proof and have dubious sources in some cases. write a book about it, include documentary proof that would suffice in a legal court, and i'll buy the first copy of the book. there are many others around who would also buy a copy.

If there is someone who thinks in the administration that the oil there will pay for all of this fighting and control, they must be complete idiots. No smart business man would go into this for oil. An oil supply that will last for 40 years at best.
What happens then?

I have heard many arguments, and yet to hear a peaceful solution to handling the situation. I thought of one, but most likely Saddam would not except it because it would leave him powerless for at least 5 years of UN occupation.

This post mainly goes out to citizen alo_cmr.
I really do not want to start a argument but here is a few thoughts. I don't know if you hate Americans but by your prvious statements it seems you seem to have some kind of problem with us. I am American. That's what we call ourself. And it is doubtful no country could stop us if we wanted to conquer them since we have the most sophisicated tecnology in the world.
About the war:
Someone had to do it. Or it would have got worse over there. Jafo, I have heard about the aussie presence about over the last few hours. You guys are not forgotten.
