Bill as we are a skinning community we like to help to keep the place straight. As G_A said a Rip is a Rip and as contributors we don't like the idea, so we all try and help

I understand Dark Mist. I have been part of the skinning community for some time. It has been brought to the attention of the admins - my suggestion was to simply wait for a period of time to allow them to check it out (i.e. Koasati sending an email and hopefully getting a reply).

The maps are freely available at the NASA site (I don't think that copyright issues are involved).

After downloading the maps, its just a matter of using them as a texture on a sphere.

I'd say that the wall is inspired, there are a lot many like this (in fact, I have made a wall of the earth), but I wouldn't accuse the artist of cheating.

Nobody accused him of cheating!!!!! Peoplz, I wouldn't convict someone without factual evidence. Someone had a doubt about someone elses work and the question was raised. That is all. If any of you felt someone ripped a wall or skin you would do the same. Nothing wrong with it and I would hope as a community we could work as a team on matters like this. I don't think anyone flat out said it was a rip.

It looks a little like a person's over at DA but he's really missing alot of things that the other person has. Mainly "stars" and the quality is slightly not as good. Just my opinion. I had to say something. I felt left out.

G_A, my comment wasn't aimed at you specifically.

I just wanted to say that creating such a wallpaper is fairly easy, you just need the right tools.

So I wish to give the artist the benefit of the doubt.

Well, next time I will email an admin vice using the messageboard. The only drawback (in my humble opinion) is that you lose the sight that the rest of the community has in possbily helping the situation. At any rate if your work was inspired by something or you followed a tut shouldn't you say so? I'm not really sure about that one.

Using a tutorial is a definite case of should give credit. Maybe He did not see that though or did not think of it that way.
