EF-1 tornado rips across Great Lakes - is Stardock ok?
Tuesday, June 23, 2015 by Uvah | Discussion: Everything Else
Watching weather channel and a report of multiple tornados, 14 counted, around the region. Isn't Stardock in that area? Hope everything is ok.

There was a Derecho there, right?
We had one here a few years ago. Wind gusts of 100+ MPH. It was INSANE.

Luckily even though they predicted the storm would hit here in north central Indiana too, all we got was some wind, lightning and thunder, and only a little rain. I am really glad too, I did not want to have my yard flood and have my garage get flooded again!

I am happy all the Stardockians were missed by the sharknados. I hope the best for others who may not have been so fortunate.

Been following them. According to the weather channel my neck of the woods has a thirty percent chance of a tornado all the way to Boston. Radar showed an intense supercell associated with them. Remains to be seen though, they've been wrong before.

Last night around 5:30 I got a weather alert over my phone. It told of an imminent threat and to seek shelter. Fiive minutes later the power went out. Remember that scene in the movie twister where the guy picked up a handful of dirt then looked up and said "Its going green"...Well...that's what happened here. I actually saw that green tint in the clouds. Then all hell broke loose. Sheets of rain and winds that had to top eighty mph or better. Chester County got slammed but Delaware County and southern Jersey got mauled. Power lines and trees down across the region, more than 150,000 people are still without power in Pa. Train services between Philly and Atlantic City has been suspended. In Jersey nearly 200,000 people without power and in Deleware 45,000. There have been reports, unconfirmed, about a possible tornado in Jersey and possibly one in Delaware County. My power came back just before midnight. Watching the news right now and all that storm damage, wow! PECO spokesperson says power may not be fully restored until Friday. I've seen badass storms before but this one was almost epic.

I thought those tornadoes are just an urban legend.

I thought West Chester would never see them but two storms, Bill and another a week later passed very close to home. Got two separate alerts on my phone and on cable. Both were tornado warnings and people were told to seek shelter. One aupposedly touched down in West Goshen just a mile and a half away but not confirmed. The next one passed over my house and I heard it showed up on route 352 a little further away. All I saw was a tremendous amount of wind and rain.

Glad everyone is ok!
This past week we have been dealing with smoke from all the forest fires here and on the mainland. Last Sunday looked like the apocalypse was upon us or we were trapped in the land of the living dead (come to think of it, I did see our local Zombie Response Team down by the oceanfront) as this massive grey green, orangish cloud rolled in and blotted out the sun. Made for some spectacularly eerie sunrises and sunsets. Rain today is clearing it out.

The storm that passed through here a few days ago had two confirmed tornadoes. Both touched down just a couple hours drive from West Chester and I ndon't think we're out of the woods yet. According to the weather channel more severe weather is on the way.

Updated the weather......main part will be well south of Pa. Carolinas, Kentucky and Tennessee are likely gonna get slammed. Hopefully not.
