Radio and Checkbox

Sunday, February 2, 2003 by Delicious | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

From an early age the question has been, What is the difference between a radio button and checkbox?

Why not just one or the other since they both do the same thing.

There has to be a reasonable explanation why two different looking features that preform the same funtion were added to the scheme of life.

Does anyone know?

Radio Button which I think are ratio buttons or something like that. Are round and usually you can only check one in the group.

Checkbox, you can check more than one. At least that's by what I know.

A little clarification

In Windowblinds both a radio button and a checkbox can be made to look exactly the same with either a dot or a checkmark or anything else.

I think the answer lies in the type of form. Wheather they ask to put a checkmark or not would be the deciding factor if a radio or checkbox.
