Anti-troll 101
Friday, January 24, 2003 by Angel_Wings | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
These are not cyber-war tactics (
)…these are just common sense/courtesy/decency type tactics that if properly deployed could do this forum a world of good:When a troll starts a thread:
IGNORE IT. Don’t respond…it just PERPETUATES the thread no matter how good your intentions because you bring the ‘troll’ thread back up where it certainly doesn’t belong.
REPORT it: Rather than responding you can right click on the ‘mother thread’ link and save the link and forward it to an Administrator whom can remove the link if it’s repugnant or rude etc.
REMEMBER: A troll wants attention…ignore him…and he leaves…keep giving him a trail of crumbs and he’ll follow.
Follow?

I think must people who are "trolls" just do not know allot about what they are writing about. Must are also unwilling to listen or take the time to read. I think we should treat them with some respect but ignore them when they become testy or nasty.
Haven't we all been trolls once?

) and my friend draws this dirty picture out of letters and numbers of two people doing something nasty... aol cancelled his account
but that was like 6 years ago... man it's been that long... so I guess I was a troll once, commenting that it was religious characters... no offense to anyone here who believes in god... I was just young and very ignorant...

Everyone light the torches and get your silver bullets and chase joetheblow down!
joetheblow, not a bad point but (
) anyone who has a legitimate bone to pick or an honest grievance to air is really not a troll anyhow and DOES deserve the respect to be heard most definitely.

Angel_Wings used to do prank phone calls live on the air on those 'home shopping channels' but that was many moons ago and before caller i.d. (don't worry, my jokes were always PG Example: I’d gush over the ‘on air’ product and then say in a panicky voice, “Oh my! I gotta go! My laxative just kicked in!”)
Hey, the hosts DID laugh ya know! heheAngel_Wings has grown up a teensy bit since then. Then again...

Argh! The board has the hiccups again!
