Windows 8 and WiFi
Wednesday, March 18, 2015 by kona0197 | Discussion: Personal Computing
So I finally got a new machine for school. It came with Windows 8. Problem is with the wifi. I did a system recovery to return the system to it's factory condition. System worked flawlessly, and the wifi worked as it should. After the first batch of updates the wifi would no longer connect. Windows said the settings it had for the network no longer match. So I had to reset the router to get it to work again. Question is why is this happening?
System:
HP 2000-2b09WM Notebook
AMD A-300 APU with Radeon integrated graphics, dual core, 1.3 GHz
4 GB DDR3
320 GB Hard drive
DVD-RW drive

I have intel wifi on my laptop and had a similar issue...you have to get the W8.1 drivers (which for intel took a while to come out)....

Did you update it to 8.1? If so, did you grab the new drivers from HP? If that is the Qualcomm Atheros card, there are specific drivers for 8.1
