SOLVED: ObjectDoc Plus 2+ not working again

Uninstalling and running CCleaner seems to have fixed everything. The latter was the crucial step.
Grrrrr! I had a lot of trouble with OD+ when I moved to Win 7. I finally got everything working except that it continually grabbed 25% of one CPU. I played with a combination of Tiles and Fences for a while but decided to give OD another chance.
Many of the problems I had when I first moved to Win 7 are back:
OD refuses to load at boot time even though it's listed in the Startup programs and msconfig. No error message at all, just doesn't load.
Drag and drop doesn't work. If I drag an icon to the dock I get a circle with a slash and I can't add it.
Dead Chrome icon: The properties are identical to the standard Chrome icon properties and yet it opens a Chrome window that does nothing. It won't even try to load any webpage, including Chrome's internal pages such as settings, history, etc. pages. Even though the icon is dead it does show the Chrome page thumbnail when I hover over it and will restore it on a click. That tells me it's hooked properly but just refuses to act as a browser.
Of course I've tried an uninstall/reinstall without success.

I ran a bat file support had sent me a while back wheil trying to debug the issue originally but it had problems doing all its tasks. Let me see if I can find the file you are referring to.
My Common Files folder under C:\ProgramData contains a single .dat file.
Is there another Common Files folder?

Then try manually delete them. As other Stardock program,OD left some of .ini files of which affected the functionalities after reinstall.
Let me see if I can find the file you are referring to. My Common Files folder under C:\ProgramData contains a single .dat file. Is there another Common Files folder?
It's under the "Program Files (x86)"- "Common Files" -"Stardock",should be.

Ok in that folder there are 4 .dll's, 1 ocx and 1 exe I don't recognize: sdmcp.exe. The description is MCPserver.
Other files: mcpcore.dll, MCPStub.dll, ODimg.dll, ODZp.dll and StardockWeather.ocx.
Do any of these sound like something I should put in the startup folder?
As for the tasks it couldn't complete some involved the registry, entries that weren't there so I figured that was ok. I did manually delete the ObjectDockPlus folder, C:\Users\Greg Evans\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus.

I read the article. I'm not sure how that helps. By the way, if I completely disable UAC OD+ loans at boot time but the drag & drop and dead Chrome icon problems continue. I will try to fiddle with the Task Scheduler again and see if I can get it to start with UAC turned on.

That link is simply telling you that sdmcp.exe is the exact file needed to run for OD,I don't understand why you failed to see that............. 
, as far as things has been through,you may need file for ticket for further assistance from Stardock stuff or some fanatic OD users who like to blast all kinds of bugs-nitpicking.
Edit:Ok,that file is for systray/taskbar feature according to comments from there.

I made some changes to the Task Scheduler and it says it started the OD task correctly but still doesn't appear when UAC is turned on. I have never booted with the file mentioned in the article and located in the Common Files area. Checking the launch at startup option puts a link to ObjectDock.exe in the Start Menu/startup, not sdmcp.exe. I will try to add it to Startup regardless and see what it does.

Adding that file to Startup made no difference.
Task Manager shows the process is running.

Try taking ownership of this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ObjectDock

As for Chrome, I'm no help, as I use IE 11. After you get OD fixed, try remaking the shortcut.
P.S. UAC= Useless Annoying Crap. I've had it turned off since it was introduced. I prefer common sense over MS as a babysitter.

No effect either. 
According to the Task Scheduler, it did start, and yet I have no dock anywhere and nothing shows in Task Manager.

Did you delete residues as well?? OD needs one peculiar file to run on the startup,it is normally located at "Common Files" folder in the system.
