The older people here may remember a group from the 60's called "The Lovin' Spoonful". One of the original members, Zal Yanovsky, retired to our small comunity here in Kingston. Unfortunately, he passed away Saturday from a heart attack.
I knew him very casually, since he owned and operated a local restaurant that I frequent.
Our little community will miss him.

Could have went to Australia once and went to Hawaii instead. That was a mistake. But ya can't change whats already done.

It's part of the U.S.. I can see the U.S. anytime. Foregin countries is harder.

I, too, remember the Lovin' Spoonfull. It's sad to hear that Zal died so young. I liked some of their music. It was fairly gentle.

Jafo, I think we should burn 'em at the stake, "And Let the Punishment Fit the Crime". (apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan).
Aside from the human cost its the environmental and wildlife damage that gets me going.
The last bout around Sydney was total insanity, 40+ fires???
Pile up the fagots and bring on the offenders, I'd even use a tumbrel and maybe we could import some of those French Revolution period crones to sit and knit in front of the fire.
Problem, how do we burn them at the stake on a total fire ban day?
