Question on skins

Tuesday, April 15, 2014 by javaseeker | Discussion: Beginners

I use vista and would like to download some skins but don't see which version of windows the skins I like use.  How do

I find which version of windows the skins support?

Also what is a good program for unzipping the themes?

Thanks for the help.

Go to the WB's gallery https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds and at top right, click on Explore Filters. Put a checkmark in Vista and click on Apply.

You can use any unzip utility including Windows native. I prefer WinRar personally.

When in the WindowBlinds gallery, go to the right side and hit "explore filters".

If it´s a WBA file it self-installs If you have Windowblinds software (Necessary). Only Unzip if it´s a regular ZIP Folder, then double-click on the WBA file.

There is a free 30 day trial if you want to try WindowBlinds out on your machine before buying.   https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/

Good point, Andy.

There is always help available here if you have any other questions and welcome to WinCustomize!

A note: Even XP and Win7 skins will often work ok in Vista so if you see one you like, give it a try. If it has problem areas you can always delete it. It won't mess anything up, it just will not look right in some places.

That should not affect the download.  I'd suggest trying again and make sure any security software isn't getting in the way of the download.

Are you trying to download the trial? I just tried on XP and it will let me download the latest version, even though it won't work on XP. Not sure on if it will actually install though. I'm not sure about the paid version however as I use an earlier version on XP which is supported. If you want the earlier trial to try out on Vista, you can get it here:  http://www.filehippo.com/download_windowblinds/12079/

This may not be much help however if after 30 days is up and you want to buy WB's if the installer blocks it from being used on Vista.

Is there anyone who can run windowblinds 8 on VISTA?

I've tried about everthing and still no go.

I tried many times to run it.  It will download but will not install on my vista computer. Would sure

like to know if anyone can run it on VISTA.

Tried the older version per WIZARD 1956. I installed version 7.4  looked good. I smiled, gave a whoope, and then tried to

change a theme,  it wouldn't do anything but go to the buy window, clicked  on the buy and nothing!!!

Thanks for trying to help me on this!!!

I'm begining to wonder if windowblinds 8 can even run on vista.

The newest Windowblinds (v.8 ) is not support Vista. Trial version has 30 days limited usability, after that, you have to remove or buy it.  Try to scam the days would not help either.

Windowblinds 8 is only for Windows 7 and Windows 8. You would need to get Windowblinds 7 to support Vista. You can get a trial version HERE, but I don't know about how you would go about purchasing it. You might want to email [email protected] on that.
