IE 11 And Skin Comments

I Can't Paste Anything

Sunday, March 30, 2014 by RedneckDude | Discussion: WinCustomize Site Issues

Hey guys, I can't seem to paste anything in skin comments at WinCustomize. I can paste in the forums.

No errors, just nothing.

Nothing. Using IE 11. No addons, and copy/paste is enabled in internet options security tab.

I can paste if I use compatibility mode. But then other things are borked.

I can paste in Chrome. I do not have any other browsers installed.

Guess I should mention I'm on Windows 8.1.

Yep, even Pale Moon is fine here, but the issues Jim is having occur in IE11 also.

Hey Jim , I was having those issues as well. So I did a little research and found a lot of chatter going on about how borked IE 11 is right now. So I switched over to my Chrome browser so I could attempt a rollback to IE 10 ( which turns out to be a little more difficult than I had anticipated) But I found some great instructions on how to do this flawlessly here : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20043971/how-to-downgrade-from-internet-explorer-11-to-internet-explorer-10

Also , so that you won't have to hunt down the post again after you reboot, this is the download site for IE 10 that is referenced in the initial instructions :  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/ie-10-worldwide-languages

Important Note : Make sure that you download the "offline" version. Microsoft is so stubborn , they will force you to download IE 11 again if you attempt the "online" version.

Edit: Also...go to "About Internet Explorer" in your toolbar , and make sure to "uncheck" the box that says to "update to new versions automatically" or your work will all be for nothing.

You can't roll back to IE 10 on Windows 8.1.

It only happens on WinCustomize, and only in skin comments.

Thanks Ace, but that doesn't help.

Yetanotherreasontonotlikewindows8.

IE10 and IE11 both bork Microsoft's FSX ...so this rig is still running 9....

Strangely, this must be connected to a recent update or something. I haven't installed anything new here in a good while, yet this problem is new.

Been using Windows 8.1 and IE 11 since 8.1 came out. Never had the problem until now.

But, since it is confined to WinCustomize dot com, as far as I know, then there has to be some kind of connection?

I noticed if I copy a comment and paste it in a reply the first time it doesn't give the blue box just the boxed quote. I have to edit and erase and paste it again to make it work right. I'm using IE 11 also.

Just rolled back to IE 9 and my  X-Plane 10 simulator program seems to work so much better now.
