Problem When Opening a Download

Just recently, I have come across a problem with my downloading of animated wallpapers. After downloading a wallpaper, the only way it OPENS is in Photoshop Elements (and it can't open there).
Previously, I've downloaded many dreams and they work OK.
Has anyone else had this problem? Can it be resolved?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I was finally able to open it with Deskscapes and now they all work fine again.

When downloading any file be it a Dream, Wallpaper or other when the dialogue comes up click on 'save file'. This way it won't automatically open and it provides a backup. Double click on it and it should open with the program its made for.
