Yea, he is good! I first became aquainted with his guitar work on the "Surfing with the Alien" CD.

Then you know how good he is.....Mr. P...!
I saw him live at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside a few miles outside of Philadelphia.
You wouldn't believe how small he is. He blew my eardrums out.... I couldn't hear for two days.
Joe Satriani - "Big Bad Moon"
ps 'Surfing With the Alien' is the first time I heard of him also..

I never saw Satriani live but it would be nice.
I did see Steve Vai a couple of times when he was playing with Zappa. Man! He would be pouring out these amazing riffs with that "This is so easy, I'm not even breaking a sweat" grin on his face.

Eddie Van Halen is an awesome guitarist but he is so predictable....
Joe Satriani and Stevie Vai are totally unique.
Robin Trower and Stevie Ray Vaughn both were pretty much Jimi Hendrix clones though both were awesome...
Steve Vai came from the school of Frank Zappa...
Joe Satriani can also play a mean 'blues harp' but I wish he wouldn't try to sing.... he can't...

Talk about being close minded when it comes to music JM. What about rap/rock more like rage against the machine, my all time favorite? anything anti government is my bag.

Sorry kona... you know I like you personally, but I can't tolerate even a hint of rap in anything...
I'm 49 years old, my mind is not closed.. but my musical preferences do not come anywhere near
the things that you like.. this isn't a bad thing.. I'm not putting you down and I expect you to not
put me down... we just like different music... so what?

Its cool. My post was not intended to upset ya. In fact there is some rap I hate as well. Any rap decides 2pac sucks for me. Along with boy bands, girl bands, and teenage one hit wonders like britney spears.
