generally: no.

some LiteStep themes do require 2K/XP to run properly. this is usually stated in the themes description or readme (that stuff nobody reads usually).

some Object Desktop programs/features require XP/2K as well as i know, but i leave this to the experts.

there will be problems if you run LiteStep and DesktopX/ObjectBar at the same time due to a little app that comes with DesktopX/ObjectBar (trayserver.exe) but on the other hand there is no real reason to use them together.
hybrid desktops are possibly though, but i suggest to go into that when you are a little more experienced with the programs.
