How to remove Explorer mouse over highlights, if possible
Thursday, January 9, 2014 by daiphoenix | Discussion: SkinStudio
Hello. I'm a new user to Windows 8, which unlike Windows 7 does not allow disabling visual styles and using a truly classic Windows theme (Windows 2000 style). ![]()
Given that I have to use these new styles, I've purchase WindowBlinds to try to get right of as many mouseover highlight effects as I can, a pretty silly feature IMO. I see that WindowBlinds allows to do that for most effects, however there is one I was not able to modify, the mouse over highlight for the items in the Windows Explorer list view. Is it possible to change this somehow?
I saw this thread previously: https://forums.wincustomize.com/314787/page/1/ , but the problem is that it seems the image for the "Selected" state is used for both selected items and non-selected item under the mouse cursor. Therefore it seems it is not possible to distinguish between those two. Is it possible to modify a WindowBlinds theme to do this? I've looked it up and it seems that when using native Windows msstyle themes it is possible to achieve this by, so it follows that WindowBlinds should be able to support this as well.
Cheers, and fingers crossed.
