Here's hoping Schumi recovers
Monday, December 30, 2013 by Jafo | Discussion: Everything Else
Michael Schumacher is currently in Hospital in a coma after a skiing accident.
22 years of F1 didn't get him....hopefully this won't either.
I've 'known' him since he started in F1....even provided supporting evidence which ensured he won his first Championship [in Adelaide]...in my role as Race 'Observer'.
Some people could never warm to him...but like Seb....he's 'just' German.....they're a bit that way - serious/driven.
Can't deny his talent though....definitely one of the best. [though he really didn't have to throw his car at me on turn 16 at Albert Park....that was just petty]....![]()
Get well soon, Michael....

Prospects are not good, I'm afraid. Sounds like either an epidural hematoma, perhaps a rapid subdural. Natasha Richardson sort of thing.

I feel sorry for him.
He was my favorite driver. Best wishes to him.

As always, I wish the best to all of us, wherever we are. May Michael bounce back and heal well and quickly.

Wasn't so keen on Schumacher as a F1 driver [like you said, not everyone warmed to him]... was more a fan of Damon Hill. but I do hope that he recovers completely from his injuries.

He's now out of hospital...which is a plus.
However that only means he's out of the coma...and can breathe unassisted.
There's a long way to go......![]()

There weren't many who thought he'd wake from the coma, even some medical experts, so this is a step in the right direction for him.
It is, as you allude to, only the beginning of his recovery process, so let's hope it is not too prolonged or difficult for him.
I recall endless months of physiotherapy after my accident to regain muscle tone and balance after what seemed like an eternity laid up in bed [almost 3 years]... and when I had regained enough strength, having to learn to walk all over again. Schumi has all that ahead of him, but he is a fighter, and if he's half as determined as I was he'll be back on his feet sooner rather than later.
All the best Michael.

i'm not a fan of f1 in the least. heck, i couldn't name 5 f1 drivers if my life depended on it but i sincerely hope schumacher recovers enough to live the type of life he once envisioned for himself and his family after retirement.
