Bon Jovi was good...

But Kid Rock was better...![]()
Saw them Tonight [Sunday] with 100,000 or so others in Melbourne [Etihad Stadium].
Kid Rock was the 'support'...but I preferred them to JBJ.... the accoustics were crap - certainly didn't help...and JBJ's mixer should have been shot...but maybe it was more the stadium than him...![]()

Bon Jovi is more of a studio band. Saw them twice...not by choice...both times they sucked.

i've seen kid rock 3 times and won't bother to go again. the first two times were great but the last time was horrible. granted most people there enjoyed the show but after 2 1/2 hours of his rap/hip-hop crap we left. the first two times we saw him he did mostly his later stuff but threw in a few of the hip-hop songs. on one occasion, one or two songs were with rev run of run dmc (skynyrd was the opening act that night and they sucked. i had seen them before as the headliner and they were great). his stage for the last show of his that we saw was fantastic. it looked like an old western saloon. i admit very few artists have control of a crowd like kid rock does.
regarding sound quality, by far the best shows we've seen were (a) james taylor with shooter jennings, (
eric clapton with roger daltry, (c) john mellencamp with john fogerty, and (d) journey with heart. all at the amphitheater in indy (i call it by its original name of Deer Creek). springsteen at the the old hoosier dome had great sound for being in an empty cavern. u2 in the same dome the next year was horrible. we actually walked out on that one. 3 rows from the stage and couldn't understand a word that was being said. seger at the fieldhouse was crystal clear. csn at the lawn in downtown indy was also crystal clear.

Now I'm jealous again. Leonard is simply the best. Wouldn't exactly count in my book as a 'rock concert' but I regret having missed him in his prime. As they say, got all his stuff on my iPod.

Come to a gig in Colorado at Red Rocks...........and you'll see how good acoustics can be in a natural amphitheater setting http://www.redrocksonline.com/

Never been to a rock concert where the mixer knew shit. Or the acoustics were worth a damn. Always driven to distortion. And I've been to a 'lot'. One solo Clapton concert may have been the exception.
Glad you enjoyed it anyway.
