I'm rich so what do I care. There are almost 6 billion people in the world who have never had a clean drink of water, so what the hell are we complaining about.

And Applebee's is probably the closest to fast food of the restaurant industry.

Here, if you want to go to the premiere one, comfy seat, legroom and bar to go get a beer, it's $72 for two (pairs only sold online)... plus booking fee = $74

The plain old cinema seats are, for 3D movie...Adult + glasses..  $26 plus $1 booking fee... $27

non 3D is $19 + $1 booking fee = $20

throw a coupla kids into the mix, with food/drink and it's quite an expense...

I rarely bother anymore, got my own big screen, premiere seat, with fridge short walking distance away..  

Last two films I saw were the digitally remastered 'Lawrence of Arabia'... a must for the big screen... and a little film called "Spud", which was excellent, but I would never have been tempted to go, if John Cleese hadn't been present in person on stage after the movie, answering questions and talking about his life for about 1 1/2 hours, now that was a treat and drew a packed house...

Rather than posting 'no spoilers' I should just post 'no inverse snobbery re unaffordability' ....

I work - hard.  2 full-time jobs - keeps me awake absurd hours.

I don't have a big house.... my car turned 22 years old this year.... and big-screen movies typically NEED to be seen on a big screen [my 'big-screen' TV would classify as small these days]... so I go to movies a couple of times a year.

 ..was just interested as to what the US'ers considered expensive... compared to what we get charged here... always amazes me, the differences... and they think they have it bad...  maybe they'll feel better about it now...  

but we did get a tad off topic...

.........much like a "successful" zombie, is highly expendable.

While a night out at the movies may be beyond my budget at the moment, these threads do serve a useful purpose. Sooner or later, all movies end up on DVD, and eventually will be found in a Fiat-sized bargain bin pile at the local WalMart. How determined the "dig" will be depends on the comments made by those of you who have seen the movie.

I've never read the books but enjoyed the movie. Apparently instead of the whole sneak into the bioweapons lab thing the ending was supposed to be a huge battle for Moscow that was only briefly alluded to in the actual film. Does anyone wish the movie ended with a bigger action scene or was the shall we say subtler ending more effective?

I'm not much of a Zombie guy. I'm more into Sci-Fi. The last time I went out to the movies it was a drive in. Me and my main squeeze was necking more than watching the movie though. lol Wow was that the good old days.

Kinda left me thinking......'sequel' ....

Next you'll have a zombie in outer space movie. Oh wait...they did that...it was a brand x movie that got relegated to the bottom of the Walmart bin. Saw it...thought it sucked.

Saw the movie today.  I think it was a so-so movie.  Like reading a book thats missing the first and last chapter.  You don't know what caused the Zombies to appear and you don't know which side won.  Only 1 name I knew, Brad Pitt.  Oh well, just my opinion and we know about those.  So I kind of agree with Jafo, probably a 'sequel'.  Big screen TV.  Hum.  In my grand daughters room I got her a 52inch LCD and in the living room a 65inch 3D Plasma.  The movies where I live are $6 for 2D and $7.50 for 3D.  They get ya on the concessions.

Saw the movie. The most important critic in the house loved it (The Wife).

We spent $21 dollars for three people to see the movie and 29 dollars at 5 guys. Movie wins on overall entertainment cost.
