101 is a calif. state hwy. Goes along the coast. An old 2-4 lane road. It's probably fixed up by now but it's still probably 2-4 lanes. It's beautiful.

101 is beautiful. It goes through the Big Sur, doesn't it? I think it goes all the way up to the Canadian border.

The 101 sounds great. I guess I'll take a drive along it once we are there.
Wise, I looked over the CAA advised route. Looks like we will be on the I-94 for quite a while. Then the I-80 for even longer.
Of course, that is just the advised route. If we were going straight there this route would be great, but like I mentioned earlier, we will be stopping in Pontiac Michigan to visit my relatives and then we will be making a huge detour and going to Spokane WA, where my wife's relative are. From Spokane, we will then make our way down to CA. I haven't really looked over the maps closely enough to figure out the best way to do all of this yet.
That's part of the fun of a trip for my me and my wife. We actually like getting lost and trying to figure our way out.

Motion, 101 is still in large parts a twisty-turny-single-lane-going-through-out-of-the-way-very-beautiful-and-friendly-places kind of road. So if you take it, make sure you plan some time for it. Some great places to stay. Some really good food. Take along a picnic for over the BS.

elvee 5 is was the new interstate to replace cal. 99. 101 runs up the coast.

I've heard of his and his songs, just not my bag. I like the 50's & 60's the most. I do have some good hard rock also. Thats in addition to what we discussed before.

The only thing I know for sure is that my wife is insisting that we drive along something called "The 101" Is that a highway?
