Can we tweak this? Please?

Guys who code, when I mouseover the scroll to top button, if I'm not extremely precise, I get the popup box asking for reason for karma.
Also, the subscribe/karma box shows beneath the OP by default. IE9 Win7 64 bit.
While creating this post, I see this:

Pat/Gargabee, the karma thing appears to be buggered... can't choose amount... wanted to give the Wizard some...
Also, the pm mechanism in the OP (from the poster's name) opens a page without a pm thing to fill out - just how full your pm boxes happens to be... no title, ribbon, response box nor send button.
I forgot to post about the Karma changes. Karma will now give +1 Karma immediately when clicking on the Karma button. So now you can only give 1 Karma, not a range from 1-9. Making it more similar to Facebook likes or Google's +1. And also adding a reason is now optional.
And, thanks for letting me know about the PM issue. Fix will be up in just a few minutes.

Not sure if you guys fixed it, or because I am on a different computer, but not having this problem now.

Well, that sucks. As a master, I've enjoyed the ability to give 5 k. Bummer, now only 1, doesn't seem worth the effort.

Figured out my issue. Ctrl+F5 wasn't reloading completely in Firefox. Had to hold down Ctrl and click the reload button for a good reload. Now everything is swell on this computer as well.

Not earth-shattering...but it's a little 'two steps forward and one step back' to be adding new features whilst removing others....![]()

If it's worth the effort, then I'll give 1 karma.....four times.
Not sure if the "time out" feature still works on that.
I liked the old system (ya think?
) but if that's what it's gonna be... meh.

'twould appear to be its ... karma.
*doc also notes that the 'pizza for karma' option is gone, too.

Quoting Patrick Ford, reply 22Making it more similar to Facebook likes or Google's +1. Note: I don't give a rats ass about either. If I wanted "similar" then I'd be there, for free, instead of being a paying subscriber to WC.

Now I have to agree with that. Who wants to be like Facebook?
I subscribe to WC, screw FB.
Reply #31 Wednesday, April 10, 2013 2:02 PM
Yep, I agree. WC is the only social website I'm subscribed to. I have no use or desire to be associated with any of those other networks.

Karma changes were not done because we wanted to be like Facebook, there were done to make the Karma system simpler. However, I just described the changes comparing them Facebook just to make it easier to understand.

Thank-you Patrick for all of your hard work, and for making the forums a much better place. You do awsome work and I, for one, have deep respect and admiration for your talents. What would we do without you ? -- Ace --

I too appreciate your efforts, but I fail to understand how limiting us to giving out 1 KP at a time makes things simpler. It makes me have to go back 4 more times to give what I used to be able to give. To me, that isn't simpler. Karma is a reward, in my opinion. Some people deserve a better reward than others, depending on the act that brought about the urge to give K in the first place.
Limiting us to 1 is a step backward, and is unfair, really.
Just one more rank perk taken away. Bummer.

Agreed...
.... I'd give you 4 karma for that but......
but it's what's been happening for years....slowly but steadily chipping away at distinctive features that were given to members to enjoy....redesigning pages that were perfect and haven't worked well since.........just keeps making the site more vanilla.... ![]()
A good motto is....if it ain't broke.... Don't fix it....

was related to promoted rank.... Just a fun little perk...
edit
Is Ausvet back Jim?
Reply #39 Monday, April 15, 2013 8:32 PM
Well, Syd, I PMd him to no avail. But yeah, it looks as though he popped in.
Daiwa, as a Master, I was able to give 5 k at a time. Each rank had a higher limit. Pat mentions 1-9, so I assume staff and admin/mods had higher limits.
One is such a lonely number.....
