Can't Download

Saturday, August 31, 2002 by Glenn Fly | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I run on WinXP. I use Opera browser exclusively. I have object desktop that came with either XP or XP Plus. I have a login with WinCustomize. I cannot download any Icons from WinCustomize. I receive a page of letters, numbers, symbols. This has just GOT to be simple, but I'm not seeing it. Can anybody help??

Thank you all for the input. What I had was an Icon Packager that had "timed out" which creates another question. That is, do I have to but Icon Packager in order to be a part of this community?

You don't have to buy anything to be part of the community. Certain programs do cost while some things are free. At the top of each catagory it will tell you whats free and what costs.

I should say that you have to buy certain things if you want to use them after the trial period is up.

Question...I recently became a citizen under WinCustomize... however, after I am logged in...I am unable to download any themes, icons, wallpapers... I get sent to the "must register" screen... Any thoughts as to where I am going wrong?
thanks.

It sounds like to me that you web browser is trying to read the file instead of uploading it.

Look in your browser prefrences and see if it says anything about file downloads

oh and I think if your not able to download it also might be your email address. If you used a different email address for your site account than your perchase account, you will have to... do some kind of link to let them know it is you and not some wierdo.... go to edit account and there should be something about the email address being the same or linking it to the stardock account..

I have the same problem, I just want to download a wallpaper...I'm signed in, but everytime I try to download it, I get redirected to a register page...I ALREADY REGISTERED..ugh...this is very frustrating, I don't have this problem at any other sites

I dont know if this is related but I often find my library prefs on the right reset to the defaults, or on some pages, It appears that I'm signed off.

Okay, I crosslinked, and it says that i've been moved to "level 2", but I still can't download, I get the same register page.

That is strange. A friend of mine is a level 2 and he doesn't have any problems.

Try deleting your Wincustomize cookie after logging out and then log in again.
It appears the cookies get 'soggy' or something...too many people 'dunking'...
