applying a winstep xtreme theme
Tuesday, January 29, 2013 by Javajax1 | Discussion: Beginners
Hi guys, new guy here. Have been running Winstep dock for a while and only using the default stuff that is included. So i decided today that i was going to download a custom theme. chose to download the LightTech theme which has its own executable file. upon running it, it changes the theme on the dock but not in windows. following the how to tutorial it says that once i've run that executable then i should be able to locate the theme in my themes section of personalization in the control panel. however it is not there. ive tried troubleshooting it myself and being dumb in this topic i enlist your aid please. what am i doing incorrectly?

Do you have Winstep Extreme or Nexus Extreme?
If you have Nexus Extreme, your Windows taskbar etc. shouldn't change.
If you have Winstep Extreme, double clicking the theme (LightTech.xtreme) should install the theme and you should see it in the Preferences>Themes window.

Ah, I do believe the good Dr. may be onto something....
I didn't see that, Doc. He probably only has Nexus.

Winstep applies skins to WorkShelf, NextStart, and Nexus. It does not skin windows. You'll need the matching WindowBlinds skin for that.
There is no windowblinds skin for Lightek. But a lot of Winstep skins do match some windowblinds skins.
