Right click menu for changing icons doesn't work
Friday, January 18, 2013 by Michelle911 | Discussion: IconPackager
For years now I've hated the way windows handles this. It takes 20 million clicks to change the icon the way Windows wants you to. I saw this as a feature of Icon Packer and was SO pleased!! But is not working ![]()
I can tick the box, but the menu item doesn't appear when I right click its icon.
I ran a quick search and found this thread https://forums.wincustomize.com/373623
Zubaz said it isn't possible due to "OS restrictions" but there's other software (shareware that I'd have to pay for) that does this - on windows 7 as well.... since I already paid for icon packager
can the "OS restrictions" problem maybe be revisited then? I play with autoit and autohotkey, I've learned well enough that nothing in windows is "that" difficult to overcome... would be nice if this would work! I suppose I could try to do it myself but I struggle with automation, I'm definitely NOT a pro! just can't believe it's so impossible.
Thanks BTW!! I'm loving Object Desktop, don't want to sound grumpy

As was pointed out in that thread, you should be able to change an icon by right clicking on it and selecting Properties, or from within IconPackager itself.
