I am using ObjectDock in Windows 8, but it is the older free version and it works just fine. Why would you want the Start8 button in OD gemtauro1 when all you need to do is right click on the start button and select it?

Because Start8's start menu is only accessible from the original taskbar. So I have to keep it enabled, defeating the purpose of OD.

Go to the Stardock entry in your All Programs menu and right click on Start8 and use Send to... and create a shortcut on your desktop, then add that shortcut to ObjectDock and then delete the desktop shortcut itself. Works just fine here.
Edit: You could also pin that shortcut to your taskbar instead if you want.

That just shows the configuration window. I want the Start8 start menu.

You have OD working in the Modern (Metro) UI?

OK then, I am totally confused by what you are trying to do.
Edit: Wait, are you saying you are trying to get the start menu to come up by clicking on an icon in ObjectDock? If so, you would probably need to contact [email protected], but I do not think that is possible as that is what the start button itself is for.

I added the Start button docklet and all was well. (OD + win8 + Start8)

Right click on the dock and follow the steps here:

I'm not after the Windows 8 Start Menu. I want the Start8 menu (the Stardock product)

I don't get the Start8 button on my dock, no matter what i try. Stardock, talk to each other!

If you follow what I said in Reply #4 gemtauro1, you get the Start8 menu.
This gives the Start8 configuration window, not the Start8 menu.

I believe Start8 is a Win 8 only app. I'm pretty sure Object Dock is not supported for Win 8. I think there are a few post's asking if/when Object Dock will receive Win 8 support...
