Saturday, July 27, 2002 by Carlitus | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I not speak english, and i never tried to make skins before the past year. I'm attempting to make skins and speak english on the way, using all of my free time. I prefer to make skins not to post confusing messages and spending my time for nothing. Sorry if i confused some people.
I will no post more comments until my english are perfectcly shakespearian.
God bye

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which an alarm clock goes off by going on.
English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn't a race at all). That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch, I start it, but when I wind up this essay, I end it.
I have many international friends (among them graduate level linguistic students) and they all tell me that English is the most nonsensical language there is to learn and one of the hardest. You are doing great and you have my respect.

One is pleased to be-uth able to spake'th in such a manner.
However, it is annoying, and hard to read. so please don't write shakespearean (look, i can't even spell it
), because no body will understand you.Reply #25 Monday, July 29, 2002 7:53 AM
"To [speak], or not to [speak]
That is the question.
Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows
of outrageous fortune, or to take up arms against a sea of troubles, and
by opposing, end them."
Stand and fight Carlitus. Oppose this sea of troubles and end them.

i read that thing three times and it STILL makes no sense.
i had a friend at my old school who was an exchange student from Costa Rica, who spoke about 5 languages, and apparently english was his worst language, but he seemed to hide it very well. i just changed schools but we've still been emailing eachother at least once a week, and he's getting better (from what i can tell anyway).
The point is, don't give up trying. you can only get better from practicing

I have learned the language at school. Also the Dutch society has been influenced a lot by English/American music, movies, TV and science.
When I started to learn the language the only way to do so was to try. I also encountered an English student when I was 10 and he helped me with the language. He answered all the letters I ever wrote to him. When I come to think of it that must have been exceptional. He was in his twenties and was probably more interested in girls and his study.

These days internet makes this a lot easier. Chances are that you meet here more guys like the friend I just mentioned. (Nerds and geeks are known for having more time on their hands because girls are not an issue.
) True, you will also find some stupid people that are lauging at your attempt. But look at this from this point of view: You are trying to speak their language and they probably cannot speak yours. So, don't get upset by stupid people who laugh at people that are willing to learn. Don't leave the forums! We need your input.

This is a great example of how very weird the English language is. We write things to a messageboard and then ask you to 'listen' to what we are saying. Of course, you can't actually 'listen' to the printed word. You actually read it. So, when people say 'listen' they actually mean 'heed'..........it is a strange language, isn't it?

I think it is good to try to learn a new language and it seems you have a good taking of it. I mean not only are you speaking (typing) english but your using works like "parlents"!!!
That's pretty good.
