Thanks Doc! But "SNCC flag symbol"? I know about the cause but I thought their symbol was two hands shaking?
As far as the grunginess on the start button, it actually doesn't look good when you add more than whats already there to a smaller image like that. 
Oh, and that's the pressed state on the start button, the normal state is a lot brighter.

the default looks different, lighter, more grungy.
and as far as I know.. that's commonly known as a peace symbol..

Thanks for the recommendation and sending me that start button Doc! I think if you look at the start button now though in the OP screenshot you'll notice it already has a little of that grunge look, but just not as harsh as the grunge on yours and a little brighter.

SANE... was the anti-nuke thing in the '60's.

! Lavender? Great choice for the "tristesse"...
Fantastic wall as well. Well done. The simplicity is perfect as well. Love the start button, Tom. I'd only suggest it be "crisper"/sharper and have the same grunginess as the SNCC flag symbol. Haven't seen the other elements, but I'm quite optimistic.
