I had gotten a file, in these forums, the other day, from a thread with a complaint about MP2 not loading.
The person was given a zip containing a file called MultiSrv.exe....
I was double clicking it, rather than dropping it into the Multiplicity directory, overwriting the existing one.
All is well, now that I woke up.
