Installed fonts

Installing a load of fonts will slow down windows 95, 98 etc....
Does anyone know if this will also cause XP to slow down?
Thanx.

i've heard xp handles them a bit differently.. haven't experimented with it yet though. perhaps one of the font handler programs?

XP handles it better, but any time you add more you're going to end up using more resources, even if it's just the memory to hold a few details while you're enumerating them.

green, do you know any good font handler apps for xp? the sort of program that switches groups of fonts in and out for you, to keep the directory small.. or the kind that stores them in a different place and has xp link to them?

The Font Thing can do that. And I'm sure most commercial apps can do so too.
