Skinning Recycle Bin

How does one go about this? I have noticed that some skins have succeeded in ridding their desktop of this....."unsightly" icon.

You can change any icon on your computer using programs such as IconPackager, IconPhile or Microangelo's On Display.
The screenies you saw here are most likely using IconPacker. Check the link to it on the left.

Or using LiteStep you can choose whether to diplay the bin or not, and customize its appearance.

Mind you that's a long way to go to just change the recycle bin
