Absolutely. Windows 8 needs DeskScapes even more than Windows 7.

Keep ya pants on....
1) Windows 8's only been officially out for 2 days
2) It's weekend.
3) Don't expect miracles within the first week.
3.1) If they release anything not completely tested to pieces, people will just go all whiner-bitch. (Which some will any way)
So, patience, critters.

LOL Windows 8 is out for more than 2 months. You really think Stardock has to wait 2 full months like us losers to get the RTM code in their hands?

There's a huge difference between final version and the loser-version.
But yes, I'm sure Stardock's had their hands on a more recent version than the 'losers'.
But that doesn't require them to release -anything- untill they want to.
Couldn't care less myself though. I'll be sticking to Windows 7 or returning to Vista before I ruin my PC with Windows 8.

if you put yourself into the shoe of a developer would you start to upgrade your programs based on an rtm version ?
I know i would not
considering that there could be upgrades already for the launch day and there was... would be a waste of time - Avira antivirus isnt even compatible with win8 yet neither is Lavasoft Adaware they did the same thing they waited for the launch day...i think Stardock does the right thing not to throw out beta software that will not work it would give the company a bad image... its the best to concentrate on one thing complete it and then go on to the next one i think there will be some news soon just give it a little more time

Well....actually you would. RTM is final [not counting post-release service packs and updates].
However it's quite a bit easier/faster for a RTM to be printed/end up on the store shelf than it is to develop a proggy 'knowing' you now have an RTM/Final code.....![]()

NO
even if its the release to manufacture -windows always comes along with another update on the start same thing on plate 8
Even if it would not be upgraded on release i would still wait a week -( i dont know if they would make changes to the code - if i think about it im certain they wouldnt since nothing would work but ) just to make people beg me to upgrade my programs
Then i would charge 50USD for the upgrade - or wait what was the VUP price of win8 again

Windows 8 pro - Purchase of DVD in Retail Store: $69 CAD
Windows 8 pro - Upgrade Download (.iso file) from Microsoft Store: $39.99 Cad
These prices are good till Jan 31 2013
If you purchase a new machine with win 7 between June 1 2012 and Jan 31 2013 you can upgrade for 14.97 to Windows 8 pro.
Hope that helps Roloccolor
and anyone else ![]()
