Boot Skin Problem....HELP!!!!

I have just downloaded Boot Skin for the first time and it instals just fine. But when I reboot, I see the screen I chose and it loads, but then it goes to a blue Stop Error Screen and I am forced to go into Safe Mode to uninstall Boot Skin, then everything boots up just fine. I have done this about four times now and I get the same error everytime.
Any help would be great as I really would like to get this program to work, thanks in advance.
The Stop Error Scree Reads like this.
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shutdown to prevent any dameage to your computer.
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time you have seen this Stop Error Screen, then restart you computer.
If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows Updates you might need.
If the problems continue, disable any new hardware or software. Disable BIOS Memory Options, such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use Safe Mode, to rev=move or disable component, restart your computer, press F8, to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Any help would be great as I really would like to get this program to work, thanks in advance.

what is SP2? and is this the only program that is like that?

I agree that it might be a bios issue. Go to Bootskins homepage (Under Stardock) to try the other versions of Bootskin to see if one of them might work for you.

ya I have dld SP2, and I tried both other version, but the same things happens. Is it just plain not compatible or something?

You may fall into this category. I don't recall which chipsets cause the problem.
I've also seen several comments about BootSkin not working after an SP2 install..........

Bootskin will work with SP2 unless you have one of those incompatible motherboards. Then it is not SP2 fault, but the chipset fault. I know I saw a list somewhere on which ones.....

It is very important, that when you install the SP2, that you disable Bootskin and other ObjectDesktop applications from starting when booting the computer. Disable them in thier preferences and change XP theme and boot and logon screen to the default.
After that download and install SP2. It will reboot. On that first reboot, you will see a boot screen that looks like the first time you installed XP. It can take a long time for this reboot. Do not get impatient. Mine took 5 mins for the first reboot. After it boots up. Sign in and set the new secuity settings that is new with SP2. Then reboot(IT does not tell you too, but I would just to make sure SP2 is running properly.)
On the first or second reboot, If you get the stop error, and all the Object Desktop and boot skins have been disabled, then it is definitely something wrong with the SP2 download or your computer. I would then contact Microsoft for help.
If it boots normally, then has the stop error when you restart Bootskin, and Object desktop, then it can be a conflict with your chipset on your motherboard, SP2 and Bootskin.

Oh, almost forgot. If SP2 installs okay and version 1.05a of Bootskin doesn't work, try the other two versions and see if one of them will work for you. Don't forget to uninstall the first version completely.

Dude this is insane i have exact same problem, was wondering if you had it figured out sparda1?I have uninstalled and reinstalled all 3 versions of bootskin one didnt work at all gave me error, the other 2 loaded boot screen first time but after that cause me to startup in safe mode.What is the sp2?does this make a difference?

I'm pretty sure that it just isn't compatible with our pcs, which really sucks. But the SP2 is the Microsoft Service Pack 2 update.

Yes, sparda1 is correct. I've been trying to locate a list of the problem chipsets, so far unsuccessfully, but this is most likely the cause of you problems with BootSkin.

How comfortable are you with your bios? I was thinking, maybe if you had the bios set to fast boot, I wonder what would happen if you disabled the fast boot setting?

It already was set to fast boot 
, so I don't think that there is much more that can be done aside from getting a new mother board or PC, bu thanks for the fast and numerous replies.

Ladysarajane is correct,I can't find the SP2 link eitherbut it
did mention Bootskin.I also disabled bootskin before installing SP2,
on my next reboot there was the original XP bootskin,quickly followed
by the wincustomize bootskin.I ended up reinstalling XP with SP1.I
would wait until they get the bugs out of SP2 before installing it
again,just keep the other SP1 updates.
