De&#115elect part of shape with paint shop 8

Saturday, September 4, 2004 by Richard Mohler | Discussion: Stardock Software

I know this is probably a dumb question but I'm trying to do a tutorial and it says to deselect part of shape, but I don't know how to do that. Can anyone help? Never ran across it before so had no need to learn how.

Can you give us a link to the tute? I'm not sure what you're being asked to do.

Is this the bit?

"With the shape still selected, create a new raster layer and activate it.
Deselect approximately the bottom two-thirds of the shape:"

Hold down the cntrl key while you highlight the part you want to deselect.
Or.. in the Tool Options palette > Mode dropdown menu> change the mode to Remove. )
