It died a slow, painful death by blood sucking leaches using the name of E-Front. After sucking it dry of all it's vital fluids, it was cast aside, an empty husk of it's former self.

No....it died a death months and months ago, but stayed up for a while longer pretending to be business as usual.
All the people who made skinz.org what it was left long ago, leaving only those who made it what it is now...ie. DEAD....

2 things:
1) Has anyone ever done a good article on what exactly happened at skinz.org? I thought Tek had one but I'm not sure where. Maybe someone else did a good one too.
2) Has anyone ever done an article specifying exactly what a rip is, why it's bad, and all that?

1....yes, there was an article at Tek....fairly early on...
2.... yes, there was recently a thread about rips and copyright on Deviantart....I said on that thread that it should have been posted up as a main general note to people.....Jark may be able to find that one...
