Anti-aliasing software

Having trouble getting real smooth edges with paint shop even though anti-alias is checked. Just want to know what you think about anti-aliasing software and do you think it will help?

with version 8.1, you should be able to get pretty smooth edges using vector objects... if that doesnt work, another way to fake it is to feather the ion a very small amount, 1 or 2 pixels, depending on how smooth you want it to be. and then, sometimes i do antialiasing "by hand"... 
open up the ole handy mspaint, zoom it up 8x, then fix up the antialiasing with dropper and pencil
