I used to live on this forum...
Thursday, January 12, 2012 by vStyler | Discussion: Community
This place used to be a home, a comfortable place, a place where most folks came to show their skins, get advice, teach, be taught, gaze with wonder, has a bit of a laugh some times, I literally never closed it.. and if I did I was back a few minutes later.....
Now.. I'm lucky if i check it twice a week.
We all know why... and I know its been said before.. and answered.. I just wanted to express my disappointment with the current state of the forum here.
Feel like I lost an old friend... Anyway.. I shall still do my thing, with my skins, but short of that I dont even recognize the place anymore.
This is just ridiculous...to me at least.

Want to get something going. We got Masters, Journeymen, Apprentices ......... lets all get on the bandwagon and give Po The Smedley the help, inspiration and or whatever he needs to to see his beautiful graphics come to life. What say you boys and girls. I'm in it for whatever I can do.

Have not been able to figure that out for the blinds, as I said. No more than I could come up with the work flow to build a web site or a rocketship.
I don't want to make all of this about my OCD. My main point is that we should be trying to take back the forums ourselves instead of filling them up with negative stuff. I'm starting to understand what some people mean when they say they are on the ignore list. Eleven replies before one to my post at #19 and I don't personally think my ideas were that out there or unreasonable. Compared to requests (and I think I even made one or two when all this crap started) to recode the site and split this up and have the admins shut the threads down. I think the big difference is my ideas involved us having to do the work.
Post#19. I don't want to write all that shit over again. Post #19.
I don't see anyone else coming up with anything that doesn't involve rehashing what the admins need to do or asking in a different way 'Why is this happening' (and if you have and I missed it, I apologize) . If you want the powers that be to do something I would suggest a new mod or admin to incorporate and coordinate my ideas or any ideas and oversee them (nothing at all against any of the current mods or admins, I am just assuming they have enough on their plates as it is). They wouldn't be a moderator as much as an activity coordinator. Someone has to lead or it will fall apart just like all the OCCUPY crap did.

That's caffeine abuse! Dammit, Po. now you've gone too far!
I fear not as now I'm not just on "The List", I'm in "The Book"

First, Happy Birthday.
Secondly, i hate those "games" posts, dang how I hate them!

Look, I'm under a lot of pressure here. Trying to answer the thread, emails, and there is a Barbi crisis going on here I am being forced to address because somehow Malibu Barbi has on Red Carpet Barbi's dress and Journey is having none of it. Do you think she gives a flying pokemon about game posts?!?! And do you have any idea how hard it is to get their damn arms in and out of these dresses without ripping the damn things!?!?!?

Unfortunately I have to agree... If it was only one 'game' thread, it would be ok. As it is, all the 'blah blah' threads end up burying the important ones sometimes mere *seconds* after having been posted.
Please understand, it's not the fact that they are 'blah blah' threads that irritates me, a good forum should have a nice balance of serious and lite threads, and to each his own - it's just that the nature of these threads elicit lots of replies in quick succession, bumping the other threads off the main page in no time at all.

There is a new one on the front page and I can't find the category here on wincustomize.
Reply #54 Friday, January 13, 2012 2:44 PM
It's a cross over from JoeUser and they have a plethora of categories. I don't think the category has to match anything in our selection to cross over. ABove the title of the thread click on the arrow next to Home and you can see the subcategories. Then just go across and do the same with each. The first sub category seems to be connected or alike to a WC sub.

I believe the plan is for posts in the Everything else section (or whatever it is called now), to be excluded from the short lists on the front page of WC and the drop down menu.
Reply #56 Friday, January 13, 2012 3:17 PM
By the same token, there are game threads that originated on WC (word association, people will hit me but, words to live by, to name a few), that by current definition, should fall into the "Everything Else" category. They don't really belong in WC talk, or Community, IMHO, at least not now that there is a "bucket" forum for those. I am guessing that those do not cross-post to the Gamer Forums, but if they did, they too would be bumped far more often. Oddly enough, I see no complaints on WC about those threads.
This is my final 2 cents on this matter. 4 cents is about all I have to my name right now, and I may have an opinion on something else later.

Thanks Po.
This has nothing to do with the Everything else so was just wondering where it came form. Would guess wincustomize is open to all the forums now if this is a cross over as Po said from JoeUser. Appreciate the info.

This is called "Work flow".
Any one of the Masters should be able to give you his/her work flow. From there, it's "How to uses sks" and mechanics (I think - don't really know)... You have so many skinners who want to help you, and your graphics are stunning.
First get the work flow and put that check list up by your computer.
I think.
