What I've Tried

I just tried installing some stuff on Windows 8 64 bit, just for grins and giggles.
I realize that a lot will likely change in Windows 8.
Anyway, as of now, I have these installed and working.
DesktopX 3.5 installs and works, somewhat.
CursorFX
Deskscapes
Fences
Icon Pkgr.
ObDock Plus
ObDockPlus2
SoundPackager
Tiles
WinFX 4
WindowBlinds won't install. Theme Manager wasn't tried since WB didn't install.
LogonStudio installs but has no effect.
Again, I realize that Windows 8 is just a Developer's Preview and a lot will change.

Interesting to say the least. Hopefully during 2012 SD will work on compatibility issues.
Wonder how that whole Mayan Calendar thing plays in all of this. This time next year we may not care.
